words
cant change fast enough
the
horizon melts so slowly i forget whats driving in me
primetime stop&go commute
not clogged but much slower
less oxygen reaching the cells
less waste removed
then
comes night
when the streets sleep
when the cars dream their way to life
redefining architecture and economics
while oil arranges world order
until we’re done burning
and wake up gray
taking
a deep breath
immediately hardens
fresh circuitry in the cup
ready for ignition
like the head-sized meteor
returning to face the sun
all channels open simultaneously
as everything hurries beyond
as we race through a void between suburbs
when
cars steer themselves
i can wake up in any city
and make it to work
a component shipped overnight
maintaining rotation of capital and distraction
with such tenuous momentum
lacking a center of gravity means wobble
don’t blame the tetherer
angry enough to lift from anywhere
or
a hernia,
an accumulation of misdirection
too many suns to dance toward
dispersing with the doves and balloons
in the melting pot sunset
i try to follow through foundation & pavement
lying in gravitic supplication
the calcium of my bones aching for its roots
a dried ocean under earth vomit
pressure fried to seal in the juices
an upside down jungle a ¼ miles thick
til the margin of error called fermentation
the
opposite of vacuum is change
the opposite of change is fear
fear is the score
with only a minute left to play
& i cant find the ball
be
the ball
acceleration
toward me
as im smothered by the scenery
collapsing like a bread stool
when wood is just a memory
muscles still warm from
releasing the spirits who died here
bones dusted by inner wind
soil with the breath stepped out of it
inverting the signature of its torments
branded in the sky of meat aroma
gone in one bite
